Important Message February 2017
I currently have vertigo (vestibular neuritis). The symptoms and intensity vary from day to day, but it has not gone away for over a month. Because of this I have been rescheduling about one third of my appointments (being necessitated on the days that symptoms are more severe). While some clients have been unaffected, some have had appointments moved multiple times already.
To inconvenience the least number of people and to alleviate additional stress on me I am taking the following steps.
1. Temporary hold on booking ANY new appointments.
2. Contacting those with existing appointments to explain the situation to them and ask that they call the day of their appointment BEFORE coming in to make sure we don’t need to move their appointment.
3. Cancel any appointments that are either very technical or are the start of big projects. Clients will be offered full refunds and the opportunity to book wth other artists.
I hope this is a very temporary situation and my normal work schedule will resume shortly. Unfortunately with the severity and the longevity of these symptoms I don’t feel that I have much choice at this point.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
Here is the point where I am supposed to come up with something brilliant and clever to describe myself so that you can be dazzled with how amazing and creative I am... fall to your knees in deep worship and know down to your very depths that I am the only person in the whole world who is worth trusting with your tattoo.
Well, sorry, but that just ain't going to happen.
In the grand scheme of things I am a pretty simple critter. I just like to make pictures. I have been drawing on everything that I could get my hands on since I was bitty. Since my Mother appreciated quiet activities, this behavior was encouraged. A nice little hobby. To tell you the truth, I wasn't even very good at it.* Not terribly talented, but definitely determined. For a while in my struggle into adulthood I held some "normal" jobs - but they just didn't cut it and I came back to art.
In 1992 I started an apprenticeship under Sailor Fred (thanks Fred!!). Fred was like a Father to me during that time and taught me a great deal. Unfortunately he stopped coming into the Rochester shop and I moved to White Tiger.
By the end of 1993 the previous owner of White Tiger decided that he was moving on. Leaving me with the choice of purchasing a tattoo shop or becoming unemployed. Obviously I chose to stay and the rest (as they say) is history.
Today I am still (believe it or not) enjoying myself. I love tattooing completely and thoroughly. I know that were I to win the lottery tomorrow - I would still be tattooing anyhow (after I took a few weeks off to celebrate). I have however cut back on the projects that I am taking on. For the forseeable future I will be limiting what I start and passing along the projects that I can to other artists.
I am usually at the Greece shop on Tuesday, Thursday and every other Saturday. Then on Wednesday, Friday and the opposing Saturdays I am in Webster. I work by appointment only. If you would like to set up a consultation appointment, please phone one of the studios during normal business hours and the counter stafff can find you a time that works. At this time I am unable to respond to appointment requests via email.
Please understand that I can not possibly handle all of the tattoo requests that I receive. If your tattoo concept looks like the type of work I have pictured in my portfolio then please feel free to reach out and inquire about my schedule. If your desired tattoo is not in a style that I work in currently I will refer you to one of the other artists at White Tiger that would better be able to assist you.
Thank you very much for visiting our corner of the internet. Please let me know if you have any comments or questions.
